Robotics and AI for kids · Cartagena

From the watchtower, you see further.

At Garita Lab, kids and teens in Cartagena build robots, learn to code and discover how artificial intelligence works. From the very first class, their hands are on a real project.

What they learn

Robots, code and artificial intelligence, hands on

Every class mixes all three. Kids build something, program it and watch it work.

Robotics

They build, wire up and bring their own robots to life. They learn about sensors, motors and mechanisms by testing and fixing.

Coding

They start with visual blocks and work up to writing code. Every program does something they can see and touch.

Artificial intelligence

They learn how a machine learns from examples, train simple models and learn to use AI with good judgment.

Programs

A program for every age

Groups are organized by age so every child moves at their own pace, with challenges that fit.

Ages 6 to 8

Explorers

Their first taste of robotics, through play. They build with big pieces, follow sequences and code with visual blocks.

  • Guided play
  • Blocks
  • First robots

Ages 9 to 12

Builders

They design robots with sensors and motors, program how they react and run their first experiments with artificial intelligence.

  • Sensors
  • Team challenges
  • AI for beginners
I want Builders
Ages 13 to 17

Inventors

Projects with microcontrollers, text-based coding and artificial intelligence applied to real problems in their city.

How we teach

What a Garita Lab class looks like

They learn by doing. Every session follows the same path, from the idea to a working robot.

  1. The challenge

We start with a clear mission, like a robot that dodges obstacles.

  2. The idea

As a team they sketch a solution and decide what the robot needs.

  3. Hands on

They build it and program it, with the instructor guiding every step.

  4. Test it

If something fails, they adjust and try again. Mistakes teach too.

  5. Show it

They wrap up by presenting their project to the group and sharing what they learned.

Why Garita Lab

A lab with roots in Cartagena

Born in Cartagena

The garitas, the sentry boxes on the city walls, were built to look far ahead. That is the spirit of the lab: getting kids ready for what is coming, from their own city.

Backed by Future Tales

Garita Lab is a Future Tales project, an artificial intelligence consulting and development company. What we teach comes from people who build with AI every day at work.

Small groups

Small groups, so everyone builds and nobody is left just watching.

AI with good judgment

We teach kids to use artificial intelligence responsibly: ask good questions, check the answers and create things of their own.

Meet Tale

Tale is the Garita Lab robot guide. Tale tells you about the programs, helps you choose by your child’s age and takes you straight to enrollment.

Tale runs inside your browser with answers written by our team: what you type is never sent or saved.

For parents and guardians

Frequently asked questions

Does my child need to know how to code?

No. We start from zero and each group moves at its own pace. All it takes is curiosity.

What ages can join?

From 6 to 17, in three age groups: Explorers, Builders and Inventors.

How do you handle AI use?

AI tools are always used with an instructor present. We teach kids to check what the AI says and never to share personal information.

How do you protect my child’s data?

We only ask for what we need to contact you about enrollment, and an adult provides it. We never sell or share the data for advertising, and this site uses no cookies or trackers. Read our privacy policy.
